Week Four
League of Ordinary Gentlemen fantasy football newsletter
Week 4 emptied the winless bin.
Sutt-Dog and Jackmerius Tacktheritrix both found the win column, so the league now has four 1-3 teams and the pizza party has to be decided on merit. Team Robottom and Lock in fn are still perfect and still not answering the group chat.
The LOG card went 3-2, which moves the LOG prediction record to 8-6.
The games
ESPN went against Sutt-Dog. The LOG pick went against Sutt-Dog. Sutt-Dog answered with 173, the high score of the week, and walked out of its own pizza party. The Clique scored 169.5, the best losing score on the card, and lost by 3.5. Late in the night ESPN's win probability spiked The Clique near 100%, then dumped it to zero in one tick. That is a lot of points to bring to a funeral.
Lock in fn is 4-0 and has still never done anything you could cut into a hype video. ESPN had Lock by 24. Lock won by 8.5 and did not ask about the spread. Drake It To You Make It scored 138 and spent the afternoon telling the bouncer it knows the owner.
The biggest margin of the week, 24.1, from the team that walked in 0-3. For three weeks the name did all the intimidating and none of the winning. This week it did both. AINTS posted 116.9, the low score of the week, and the reason has its own section below.
The LOG pick took Size, ESPN had Size by 16, and Prestige did not read either memo. Size chased all Monday night, and Kamara's 23 kept the chase at arm's length. Points Matters, and Size had fewer of them.
CeeDeez went into Monday needing a miracle and got most of one: Olave and London combined for 34. It came up 5 short. Most of a miracle pays the same as none.
Power rankings
After Week 4702.8 PF, a 48.1-point lead on the field, and the lowest PA in the league. CeeDeez made it sweat. It did not make it lose.
Third in PF, first in not caring. Boring in the best way, and undefeated about it.
Second in PF and 2-2. The warning label still works. It just also works on Size.
Lost by 5 after a 34-point Monday rally. Close losses count the same too.
Scored 169.5 and lost. Nobody in this league should have to read that sentence.
CeeDee Lamb caught 17 passes for 189 yards and a TD in the Dallas comeback, the 4th player ever with 17-plus catches, 180-plus yards, and a TD in one game. The reboot is out of beta.
Highest PA in the league at 638.6 and finally a W. Three spots up for finding the oven door.
First win, biggest margin of the week, and now the QB is in a boot. Enjoy it for one more day.
Drake Maye threw for 269 and 3 TDs, ran for 54, and led the Patriots to a 29-26 upset in Buffalo. The fantasy team named after the vibe still lost.
Lowest PF in the league at 465.2. The pizza spot has stopped asking for a name on the reservation.
3-2 on the LOG card, 8-6 on the season. Arrows show movement against last week's rank.
Crime blotter
AINTS dat a B Payola
Same QB, same bench, same result.
Started Hurts (15.3). Burrow (35.6) sat. That is 20.3 on the pine, the biggest single miss of the week, and the 2nd straight week of this exact crime (Week 3: Hurts 15, Burrow 38 on the bench). Burrow alone does not flip a 24.1-point loss. Add Loveland (11.7) over Kincaid (1.7) and the two swaps make up 30.3, enough to win it.
Drake It To You Make It
The flip was on the bench.
Started Ja'Marr Chase (5.7), who exited with a concussion. DK Metcalf (16.5) sat. That is 10.8 on the pine in an 8.5-point loss. Swap that one slot and Drake wins 148.5-146.2.
Pimp Trick Gangsta Clique
Lost by 3.5, left 7.4 on the pine.
Started Josh Downs (4.6). Malik Washington (12.0) sat. That swap alone wins it 176.9-173.0. Washington is in the Week 5 lineup and Downs is on the bench, which is the right move one week late.
Week 5
LOG picks · record 8-6ESPN has Drake 134.60 to 126.73, 54% to 46%. Sutt-Dog's number includes a 0.0 at QB because Bryce Young is on bye, with Darnold (22.4) on the bench. Drake has Maye at 24.9 and a Chase listed Q.
ESPN has the Clique 147.94 to 134.15, 56% to 44%. Lamar Jackson sprained his left ankle against the Titans and has only an outside chance to play Sunday against the Falcons, with Huntley in line to start. ESPN lists him Q at 25.4, and Mahomes is on bye.
ESPN has Prestige 135.91 to 106.22, 65% to 35%. Lock currently starts three bye players at 0.0: Rashee Rice, Tetairoa McMillan, and Travis Kelce. Prestige brings Lamb at 19.2 and nobody on vacation.
Biggest gap on the card: CeeDeez 150.54 to 114.35, 66% to 34%. AINTS has Hurts (22.2) starting, Burrow (31.6) on the bench, and Chuba Hubbard on bye in the lineup. The Crime blotter is already taking notes.
The #1 seed visits the #3 seed, and they are the top two in PF. ESPN has Size 154.00 to 152.00, a 1.99-point gap and a 51% to 49% split, the closest projection on the board. Robottom keeps scoring like it has somewhere else to be. The LOG pick stays with the undefeated team until somebody makes it lose, not just sweat.
